400KVA 30KVA Cummins diesel generator delivered hospitals in Syria as part of a UNDP aid project.

we have completed supply and commissioning of 10 sets of Cummins diesel generator set to Libya. The units are used as backup power for hospitals. It have been completely installed, tested, and are running with full load, the hospital now enjoyed reliable and stable power supply.

    Project brief introduction:
    Power Rating: 4 × 450 kVA and 6 × 30KVA
Type: Silent diesel generator set with soundproof and rainproof canopy
    Application: Continuous/standby power for hospitals

This installation success again proves the fact that we can provide reliable power solutions to global customers in a variety of industries.

Generator sets utilized in hospitals serve as the final line of defense in safeguarding human life. Far from being ordinary equipment, they constitute a highly automated emergency power system. Their core mission is to automatically activate within seconds of a utility power outage, thereby ensuring the uninterrupted operation of critical departments such as operating rooms and ICUs (Intensive Care Units).
The specialized nature of hospital generators is primarily reflected in the following aspects:

    • Extremely Rapid Start-up Speed

This is the most critical performance metric. When utility power fails, the generator must automatically complete its start-up and power transfer sequence within a timeframe ranging from a few seconds to just over ten seconds, as a power interruption poses an extremely high risk to life-support equipment such as ventilators and patient monitors. Furthermore, for areas with exceptionally stringent requirements for power supply continuity—such as operating rooms—the generator is typically paired with a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply). The UPS is responsible for providing zero-delay power immediately following an outage, bridging the gap until the generator successfully starts up.

    • Exceptional Reliability

In its role as a “backup” system, the generator may remain dormant for extended periods—potentially for years—yet it must be capable of responding instantly the moment it is called upon. Consequently, hospitals conduct regular operational drills—such as simulating a simultaneous failure of dual utility power feeds—and entrust the equipment to professional teams for meticulous maintenance.

    • Strict Regulatory Compliance

The design and installation of hospital power generation systems must strictly adhere to national standards—such as the *Code for Electrical Design of Medical Buildings* (JGJ312-2013)—with particular emphasis on meeting the specific power supply requirements for “Level I Loads” (critical life-support areas like operating rooms and ICUs) and “Level II Loads” (essential support systems such as elevators and domestic water pumps).

    • Specialized Installation and Environmental Requirements

Generators are frequently situated in hospital basements; therefore, issues regarding ventilation, exhaust emission, noise reduction, and seismic resistance must be addressed with meticulous care. For instance, the generator room requires specialized soundproofing construction, while exhaust ducts must undergo thermal insulation and noise-dampening treatments to minimize any adverse impact on the hospital environment.

    • Intelligent Monitoring and Management

Modern hospital generator systems are typically equipped with “Three-Remote” (3R) systems—encompassing remote telemetry, remote signaling, and remote control capabilities. This technology enables facility managers to monitor critical parameters—such as fuel levels, coolant temperature, and voltage—in real-time from a central control room, thereby facilitating comprehensive remote management and control.
