Gas generator advantages
- Environmental friendly, Clean Combustion and Low Pollutant Emissions:
Natural gas is the cleanest energy source among fossil fuels. Its primary component is methane (CH₄). Combustion primarily produces carbon dioxide (CO₂) and water (H₂O), with virtually no sulfur oxides (SOx) or particulate matter (PM).
It also significantly reduces nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions compared to coal and diesel. Modern gas generators using low-NOx combustion technology can achieve extremely low NOx emissions.
- Reduced Greenhouse Gas Emissions:
Natural gas has a low carbon intensity. For the same amount of electricity produced, its carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions are approximately 40-50% lower than coal and 25-30% lower than oil. This helps combat climate change and reduce our carbon footprint.
In many regions, especially in countries with abundant natural gas resources (such as the United States, Russia, Iran, China, Canada, Qatar, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, etc ), natural gas prices are typically lower than diesel. Although subject to market fluctuations, its long-term cost advantage is significant.
For projects with direct natural gas pipeline supply, the fuel supply is stable, eliminating the need for frequent transportation and storage required for diesel.
- High Power Generation Efficiency:
Modern natural gas generator sets offer very high power generation efficiency. Simple cycle efficiencies can reach 40-45%, while when operating in combined heat and power (CHP) or combined cooling, heating, and power (CHP) modes, overall energy efficiency can reach over 80-90%. This means that the energy content of the fuel is fully utilized, resulting in significant economic benefits.
